There is a law to revolve half of Shiva, because the Somasutra of Shiva is not hanged. When a person revolves half the circumambulation, it is called Chandrakar Parikrama. Somasutra: Nirmali of Shivling is also called Somasutra. The order of the scripture is that Shankar should not violate Somasutra in the pradakshina of God, otherwise the fault seems to be. Explaining the Somasutra, it is said that the water offered to God falls from the place of Somasutra.
Why not cross Somasutra: Somasutra has a power source, so it spreads legs while crossing and semen-made and 5 inner air flows. This causes obstruction in the flow of Devdatta and Dhananjaya air, which has a bad effect on the body and mind, so the scripture of the semi chandrapakshina of Shiva is the order of scripture.

From which side the circumambulation: Always start the circumambulation of Lord Shiva lingam from the left side and go to the part of the Jaladhari i.e. the water source and then return in the opposite direction and come to the other end and complete the circumambulation.
