Cricketer: The current season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is very interesting. Till 5 May (Monday), a total of 55 matches have been played in IPL 2025. Now only 19 matches are left including the playoffs. The final of IPL 2025 is to be played on 25 May (Sunday) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Parashar auditioned for Indian Idol from the first season itself. But after three rejections, they finally reached the piano round in season 4 in 2008 (as called the second round). Parashar shared a video in 2023, in which he wrote, “18 October 2008. 15 years !! How fast the time passes !! I wish I wish 23 years old then I know how exciting the next 15 years are going to be.”

Parashar reached the final round of the Indian Idol 4, but soon dropped out. However, he continued singing, as well as cricket.

This boy from Pune used to play club cricket since his teens, even before auditioning for Indian Idol. But by 2005, Parashar realized that he would never reach the top level. He kept playing to maintain physical fitness and stay connected with his favorite game. In 2015, he was selected in the panel of BCCI umpires. The 30 -year -old Parashar has umpted in domestic tournaments such as the Ranji Trophy and the Dalip Trophy, before he achieved a big place with WPL in 2024.

In the year 2024, Parashar Joshi played the role of an umpire in the Women’s Premier League. Since he looks like Indian cricketer Shreyas Iyer, he became a topic of discussion among fans. Now he is playing the role of umpire in IPL 2025. As an umpire, Parashar made his IPL debut on 5 April 2025 in the match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Delhi Capitals (DC).

New star’s career

39 -year -old Parashar Joshi still performs as a singer. Apart from creating new music, they also make covers of old songs. Parashar Joshi auditioned for Indian Idol in the first three seasons, but he was rejected three times. Then he reached the fourth season of Indian Idol. He has played the on-field umpire in 9 First Class, 24 List-A and 30 T20 matches so far. Apart from 1 First Class, 1 List-A, he has also played the role of TV umpire in 3 T20 matches. In the coming time, fans can see him umpiring in international matches.
