Light rain likely in Delhi today

The maximum temperature in the national capital on Friday is expected to hover around 36 degrees Celsius and light rain is expected. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), parts of the city witnessed thunderstorm and rain on Thursday as the minimum temperature settled at 20.5 degrees Celsius, six notches below normal.

According to the IMD, Delhi received 2 mm of rain from 8.30 am on Thursday to 8.30 am on Friday. The relative humidity was recorded at 67 per cent at 8.30 am.

According to data from the Ministry of Earth Sciences’ System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), the air quality index at 9 am was recorded in the satisfactory category (75).

Significantly, an AQI between 0 and 50 is considered ‘good’, 51 and 100 ‘satisfactory’, 101 and 200 ‘moderate’, 201 and 300 ‘poor’, 301 and 400 ‘very poor’ and Between 401 and 500 is considered ‘severe’.
