Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Live Updates: The fifth phase of Lok Sabha polls are being held in 49 constituencies across the country today. While the voting will begin at 7 am, it will conclude at 6 pm. Voters will exercise their franchise in 13 in Maharashtra, 14 seats Uttar Pradesh, five each in Odisha, seven in West Bengal, three in Jharkhand, and one each in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. Among key candidates in the fray include Rahul Gandhi, Smriti Irani, Rajnath Singh, Omar Abdulla, Rohini Acharya, Chirag Paswan, among others.

As per the Election Commission, a total of 695 candidates are in the fray for the fifth phase. Around 60 to 69 percent voting was recorded in last four phase of Lok Sabha polls. The fourth phase of poling that was held on May 7 recorded the highest voter turnout with 69.16 percent.
