Lokayukta action, Patwari arrested for taking bribe of Rs 13 thousand
Jabalpur Lokayukta police arrested Patwari Sunny Dwivedi, posted in Kundam tehsil, red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 13,000 on Friday afternoon. Sunny Dwivedi had asked for a bribe of Rs 15,000 from Jitendra Patel, a resident of Pipariya village, to get the book of his land made.
Applicant Jitendra Patel complained to the Lokayukta police and said that the Patwari had been demanding bribe for a long time. After investigating the complaint, Lokayukta police arrested the Patwari while taking bribe from a dhaba located in Tilsani village on Friday afternoon.
Patwari used to reject the application every time
According to the information, Jitendra Patel owns 80 decimal land in Pipariya village, which includes the names of his father and four aunts. All four aunts voluntarily wanted to transfer their share of the land to Jitendra. The Patwari had demanded Rs 15,000 to get the book of this land made. Complainant Jitendra told that his father was ready to pay Rs 8,000 to the Patwari, but the Patwari did not agree to less than Rs 15,000. Jitendra also told that he filed the case three-four times, but every time the Patwari used to reject the work of making the books.
Complaint to Lokayukta
On Thursday, the complainant gave a written complaint to Jabalpur Lokayukta SP Sanjay Sahu, in which he told that the Patwari has been harassing him for many months and is not ready to work without bribe. Lokayukta police, after investigating the complaint, caught Sunny Dwivedi red handed while taking a bribe of Rs 13,000 in a dhaba near Tilsani village on Friday afternoon. DSP Surekha Parmar said that legal action is underway against the accused.
