A shocking case has come to light from Koraput district of Odisha, where the villagers openly punished a newly married couple. The incident occurred in Peda Etigi village of Bandugaon region. According to the information, the villagers came to know about this couple who recently married love, they are from the same family and come into a brother-sister relationship. Considering it a violation of the rules of the community, the villagers tied both of them like bulls and got the plow at the village square. The video of this inhuman incident went viral on social media.
What is the argument of the villagers behind the plow?
The villagers said that this is a symbolic way of ‘atonement’, from which ‘Mother Earth’ is apologized. According to the information, the marriage took place despite the opposition of the family, after which the villagers gave this punishment, saying that it would make them ‘purify’. However, this marriage is valid, but despite this, the villagers raised strong objections to the relationship and considered this marriage a violation of customs.

A video of the incident has surfaced, in which the couple can be seen driving a wooden solution, while the crowd is standing around. The act is being condemned after the video went viral. After catching the case, the police reached the spot and is investigating the case.
