Maharashtra bandh call for Maratha reservation posted on social media; Don’t spread rumours, appeal from police
Mumbai: Maratha protester Manoj Jarange Patil is on hunger strike for reservation. Today is the seventh day of Manoj Jarange Patil’s hunger strike and the post of ‘Maratha Kranti Morcha’ calling for Maharashtra bandh to support him is going viral on social media. But it has been made clear that no bandh has been called on behalf of the Maratha Kranti Morcha. This has created confusion across the state as rumors are being spread on social media.
Also, incidents of arson took place in Beed and Dharashiv in the state on Monday, in which the houses of people’s representatives and the office of the party were set on fire by Maratha protesters. Due to this there is curfew in Beed and Dharashiv in the district. Everything except essential facilities will be closed in these two districts.
Don’t spread rumours, police appeal
Today the message of Maharashtra bandh is going viral on social media. On this, the Maratha community clarified that no message of Maharashtra Bandh was sent by Jarange Patil and Maratha Kranti Morta. In view of the incidents of arson in the state, a heavy police force has been deployed in all the districts. The police have appealed to the police not to spread rumors in this regard.
