Maharashtra is burning in the fire of Maratha reservation.. Resignation, uproar, sabotage and demonstrations.
Pro-Maratha reservation agitators are protesting on the Pune-Bengaluru Highway near Navale Bridge in Pune city. Earlier, a mob of agitators had set fire to the house of Ajit Pawar faction MLA Prakash Solanke in Beed district. The mob also set the city council on fire. The office of BJP MLA Prashant Bamba has been vandalized in Gangapur. The houses of NCP MLA Sandeep Kshirsagar and former state minister Jai Kshirsagar were also set on fire.
Resignation of two MPs
Shiv Sena MPs from Maharashtra’s Nashik and Hingoli have resigned in support of the demand for reservation for the Maratha community. Both are close to Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Hingoli MP Hemant Patil submitted his resignation to the Lok Sabha Secretariat in New Delhi, while Nashik MP Hemant Godse has sent his resignation to Chief Minister Shinde.
Action will be taken against the culprits
Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that the kind of incident that took place in Beed yesterday cannot be supported. The state government is positive regarding Maratha reservation. In such a situation, if some people are deliberately trying to commit violence, it will not be accepted. Many people have been identified, action will be taken against them. Those who are protesting peacefully will be allowed to protest.
