Mahathag turned out to be Tamil actor, looted 5 crores by pretending to get a loan of 1000 crores

EOW of Delhi Police arrested the actor of South films from Chennai. Actor S.K. Srinivasan has been arrested by the Economic Offenses Branch of Delhi Police (EOW) from Chennai in a big fraud case. According to Delhi Police, Srinivasan is alleged to have cheated a company 5 crores from the company in the name of getting a loan of Rs 1000 crore. The accused actor was absconding since 2018. Srinivasan was also declared a Proclaimed Offer 2 times by the police. Not only this, Srinivasan was also absconding from the ongoing hearing in the court since 2018. Srinivasan escaped after getting bail in 2017.

What is the case?

In 2010, Blue Coast Infrastructure Development Ltd. Some so -called consultants were found from a company named and assured the company to get a loan of 1000 crores. He assured that if the loan is not received, the advance amount will be returned in 30 days. These consultants gave the company S.K. Srinivasan aka Pawstar introduced, who described himself as the owner of Baba Trading Company and a big financier. The company then paid an advance amount of 5 crores, which was allegedly to buy special stamps. But neither a loan was received nor the money was returned. The check given for the guarantee was also bounced.

What came out in the investigation?

Investigation revealed that the amount of 5 crores was transferred directly to Srinivasan and his wife’s accounts. 50 lakhs were taken out in cash and fixed deposits of ₹ 4 crore were made, which was confiscated.

How was the arrest?
The EOW team got the location of the accused in the Vanagaram area of Chennai with the help of technical surveillance and local intelligence, after which he was arrested on 27 July 2025 from the Golden Treasury apartment.

Who is Powstar Srinivasan?

64 -year -old S. Srinivasan hails from Anna Nagar in Chennai. He has described himself as a doctor, actor, singer, producer and businessman. He got a degree of acupressure from a university in China through distance education and then opened Baba trading company in Chennai. He propagated through brokers that he could get a big loan. Srinivasan played small roles in films like Unakkaga Oru Kavithai and gave himself the title of Powrstar.
