Major accident at Italy’s airport, person killed in flying aircraft engine
Aircraft was ready for take off
A tragic accident occurred on Tuesday morning at Milan Bergamo Airport in Italy. A person got stuck in the engine of the aircraft and died. It is being told that the person was a ground staff, who came on the runway and came in the way of Airbus A319 Volotia aircraft to Asturius, Spain. The aircraft was about to fly to Asturius, Spain.
There were 154 passengers in the aircraft
Volotia Airlines has confirmed that the aircraft had a total of 154 passengers and six employees, including two pilots and four cabin crew. Posting on X, Volotia said, “The affected passengers and crew are making every effort to assist and provide them with psychological assistance.”
Accident at Milano Bergamo Airport
One of the busiest airports, Oreo al -Serio Airport, also known as Milano Bergamo, was closed at 10:20 am after the accident. In 2024, the airport handled more than 1.7 crore passengers.
The aircraft was preparing to fly
The airport operator Sacbo confirmed the “problem on taxis” and said that “the causes of the problem are currently being investigated by the authorities.” According to reports, the person was pulled into the engine of the aircraft only when the aircraft was preparing to fly, after which he died. A total of 9 flights were diverted due to this incident and 6 were redirected. Eight flights were also canceled. According to CNN report, flights started again after the delay due to the incident at the airport after the afternoon.
