To make modak at home, you will need a cup grated coconut, a cup grated jaggery, a pinch of nutmeg, a pinch of saffron, a cup of water, 2 spoon ghee and a cup of rice flour.

First step- First of all, add grated coconut and jaggery in a pan. Keep stirring it on medium flame for about five minutes.

Second step- After this, mix nutmeg and saffron in the mixture of coconut and jaggery. Now cook this mixture for about five minutes.

Third step- Take out water and ghee in a flesh. Now boil this mixture well and then add salt and flour to it.

Fourth step- You have to cover this flesh so that this mixture cooks well. When this mixture remains about half, you can turn off the gas.

Fifth step- After this, knead this dough well and then make small dough from it. You have to shape the flower to these dough.

Sixth step- You have to fill the mixture prepared in these dough and then stop the dough. Now place these dough on any clean muslin cloth and cook in steam for about 10 to 15 minutes.

Your modaks are ready. Now you can offer Ganpati Bappa with these modes. By following this very easy recipe, you can make modak at home in a short time.
