Rava uttapam
If you want to make something light, healthy and tasty in breakfast, then Rava Uttapam is a great option for you. It is easy to make and also rich in nutrition. Let’s know its complete recipe:
Ingredients to make rava uttapam:
Semolina 1 cup, yogurt ½ cup, water: about 4 cups, finely chopped onion 4 cups, finely chopped tomatoes ½ cup, finely chopped capsicum ½ cup, finely chopped green chillies 1-2, grated ginger ½ teaspoon, finely chopped green coriander 2 tablesmiths, salt taste, salt tastes
How to make Rava uttapam?
-
Take semolina and curd in a bowl. Mix them well so that there is no lump. Now prepare a thick and smooth solution by adding water slowly. The solution should be so thick that it flows easily when it is dropped with a spoon, but not too thin. (Mixing a little ino fruit salt in the batter will make uttapam even more soft and bloated)
-
Cover the solution and keep it aside for 15-20 minutes. This will swell the semolina and become soft. Until the batter is set, finely chop onion, tomato, capsicum, green chillies and green coriander.
-
After 20 minutes, run the batter once again. If it looks very thick, you can add some more water. Now add salt and all the finely chopped vegetables (onion, tomato, capsicum, green chillies, ginger and coriander) and mix well.
-
Heat a non-stick griddle. Apply a little oil or ghee on the pan. Keep the heat medium. Put one tablespoon of batter in the middle of the pan and spread it slowly in round shape. Do not spread too thin, uttapam is slightly thicker than idli.
Add a little oil or ghee on the edges of the uttapam and above. Let it cook until it becomes golden brown from one side. When cooked well from one side, turn it carefully and roast it till it turns golden brown from the other side. Serve the prepared uttapam with chutney, sambar or any side dish of your choice.
