Nagpur, Maharashtra — Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge took the opportunity to counter Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent remark about the Constitution, in which he referred to it as a “blank red book.” During his speech, PM Modi had commented that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was reading a Constitution with empty pages, calling it “kora kaagaz,” or blank paper. Kharge, visibly affronted by the comment, asserted that the Constitution is far from blank and is, in fact, a foundational document rich in content and significance.
Holding up a copy of the Constitution, Kharge challenged the Prime Minister’s portrayal, emphasizing that the document, revered and adhered to by millions, cannot be trivialized. “This is the Constitution, and it contains everything that our nation stands for,” he declared, pointing to the pages. “I would urge Nitin Raut to send a copy of this book to the Prime Minister, so he can see for himself that it’s not blank.”
