Noida: In a horrific incident, a 35-year-old man was brutally stabbed to death on Thursday afternoon outside a meat shop in Sector 117, Noida. The victim, identified as Shahzad, was stabbed multiple times by the accused, identified as Amarjeet Mahato. Shahzad was a native of Meerut and living in Noida. The incident reportedly began as a minor disagreement over a scarf.

Accused arrested after brief encounter
After receiving information of the same, police arrived at the scene and transported Shahzad’s body to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Three special teams were formed to track down the suspect. CCTV footage from nearby shops were also collected, along with the footage from the meat shop. Mahato was traced to a jungle area near Sector 117 on Friday morning and after a brief encounter he was overpowered. Mahato, who was shot in the leg was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The police recovered the murder weapon, a pistol, and live cartridges from the accused.
Meet shop owner on the run
Shahzad, who recently lost his job, is survived by his wife and three kids. Gulzar, the owner of the meat shop where the altercation began, has been on the run since the incident. Authorities are searching for him to ascertain more details about the events leading up to the crime.
“The accused has been identified and apprehended. We are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident and have seized CCTV footage as evidence,” a Times Of India report quoted DCP Noida Rambadan Singh as saying.
