There are many such features provided in this app, about which many users are not aware. Through the IRCTC app, you can book a train ticket even after it has been charged. For this you have to go to the app and follow some steps.

IRCTC had added this feature to the website as well as the Rail Connect app a few years ago. Through this feature, railway passengers can book confirmed tickets of any train even after the chart has been prepared. Railways had added this feature to inform passengers about vacant seats after the chart is prepared in a train. Once the chart is generated, passengers can find the vacant seats in any train between one destination and another. After this they can book confirmed tickets online in Current.

Find out the vacant berth in this way

For this, the railway passenger will first have to install IRCTC Rail Connect app in his phone.

After installing the app, open the app on your phone.

After launching the app, go to the Train option.

Here you have to tap on Chart/Vacancy.

After tapping on it, enter the number of the train in which you want to see the confirmed ticket.

Then fill the journey date and boarding station details and tap on Get Train Chart.
Then select the coach in which you want to travel in the train.
Here you will get information about Vacant, Occupied and Partial Vacant seats.
When you find a vacant seat, log in to the app and book your ticket in advance.

This facility of IRCTC is especially for those railway passengers who want to book tickets in current mode. Even if a passenger has boarded the train, he/she can still book a vacant berth by contacting the TTE. However, in most trains, the chances of getting a confirmed ticket after chart preparation is very less. However, if you want to travel short distances then you will get the benefit of this facility.
