Maoists’ plans failed, security forces recovered 3.6 tonnes of explosives

Out of about 4 tonnes of explosives looted by Maoists in Sundargarh district of Odisha, security forces have so far recovered about 3.6 tonnes of explosives. This information was given by the officials on Wednesday. On May 27, Maoists have K.K. A truck carrying explosives from Banco stone quarry in Balang area was looted, mostly gelatin. Following this incident, Odisha Police, along with CRPF, Jharkhand Jaguar, Special Campaign Group (SOG) and Cobra unit, launched a joint campaign in Saranda forest in Jharkhand.
Explosives were kept hidden in dense forest
DIG (Western Range) Brijesh Rai said that during the campaign on Tuesday night, security personnel recovered 1,000 kg of explosives. Earlier on Monday, about 2.5 tonnes of explosives were recovered. Another official said that about 157 kg of explosives were recovered earlier. He also reported that the explosives were hidden in the dense forest. “A search operation continues in a dense forest adjacent to Jharkhand,” Rai said. Meanwhile, the SIT of Odisha Police on Tuesday arrested Shravan Aggarwal, owner of the explosive warehouse and the truck driver.
Five patients died within a few hours
In another news, an inquiry has been ordered to investigate the case after the death of five patients due to alleged negligence at Shaheed Laxman Nayak Medical College and Hospital in Koraput, Odisha. Two men and three women hospitalized on Tuesday night died in a interval of a few hours. The relatives of the deceased patients alleged that they were given any vaccine, after which they succumbed.
Order for departmental inquiry into the case
Superintendent of the hospital Sushant Kumar Sahu said that departmental inquiry into the case has been ordered. He said, “We have called a meeting of all the heads of departments. On Tuesday night, the patients who died were hospitalized in critical condition. Prima facie it does not seem that death occurred due to any wrong vaccine. However, we will investigate the allegations.” According to officials, three patients died in the intensive care unit (ICU), while two others succumbed to the normal ward. (input language)
