Forbesganj/Araria.In Forbesganj, married women observed Karva Chauth fast on Sunday for the protection of their married life, long life of their husband and happiness and prosperity. The married couples celebrated this festival with great devotion. There was an atmosphere of enthusiasm throughout the day among the women regarding this festival celebrated on Kartik Krishna Paksha Chaturthi. At the same time, married women were busy in their preparations for the fast since morning. The married women kept a waterless fast for the whole day for the long life of their husbands. After the evening moon rose, they broke their fast by offering half moon to the husband, applying sandalwood to him and worshiping him. The husband also supported his wife and broke her fast by taking water with his hands. The number of women observing fast on this festival is increasing every year. It is believed that observing the fast of Karva Chauth brings the blessing of unbroken good fortune. Husband has long life. Karva Chauth is also known as Kadak Chaturthi in some parts of the country. This festival further strengthens the relationship between husband and wife. Due to which this festival holds great importance for husband and wife. Women remained engaged in worship throughout the day to pray for happiness, peace and long life of their husbands. In the evening, she was seen eagerly waiting for the moon to rise, but the moon was also seen playing pranks on the married women in the sky late in the evening. As soon as the moon was seen, the married women, after seeing the moon, looked closely at their husbands. They applied Tilak to him and performed Aarti and prayed for his long life. After this, he broke his fast after offering prayers. Whereas many women completed their fast by seeing their husbands through photographs and video calling as their husbands were away from home. According to classical beliefs, by looking at the husband through a sieve, both the wife’s behavior and thoughts are filtered and purified. On Sunday, Lord Bholenath along with his family members were worshiped on Karva Chauth. Preparations for the Karva Chauth fast continued throughout the day. While the fasting women got ready with sixteen adornments, various types of dishes were prepared, rice kheer and puri filled with pulses were also prepared. After offering it to God, everyone consumed it.
