Martyr Manish Kumar (22), while on duty in Kargil, merged into the five elements on Saturday. He was cremated with state honors in his native village Pandey Gangaut in Nawada.
Manish’s body reached home at around 1 pm. After the last darshan, the body was brought to the crematorium.
Earlier, when the body was being brought home from the Nawada police line, then 2km long bike rally continued behind the car.
Thousands of people kept shouting slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai with the tricolor in their hands.
In the path where the martyr was brought, people stood in place to pay tribute to the tricolor.
Fall during duty, death during treatment
Manish Kumar was posted as a nursing staff in Operation Rakshak in Kargil. Nawada DM said that ‘his health suddenly deteriorated on the morning of 14 May while on duty and he fell. He died during treatment.
On May 15, the army informed his family about Manish’s martyrdom. The army has given martyr status to Manish.

Manish was married 3 months ago. Wife Khushboo is shocked after hearing the news of his martyrdom. Khushboo says that she also wants to join the army. The wife told that he had promised to return soon.
