Maruti Suzuki closed Grand Vitara’s CNG variants, but still the opportunity to buy, know how – Cross Talk India
Maruti Suzuki Has removed its premium SUV Grand Vitara’s petrol-CNG variants from Nexa’s official website and brochure. This has intensified speculation that the company has closed this variant. However, buyers wishing to buy CNG who want to book Petrol-CNG variants of Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara can book it with the dedicated reservation section of Nexa website.
Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara CNG is available in two different trim options for the CNG Povertrain option- Delta MT CNG and Jetta MT CNG, which is not visible in the variant listing of SUVs or brochures. However, when someone wants to book SUVs, the dedicated section shows 2 CNG options. This shows that the automaker is probably working on the My2025 CNG model, which may soon be launched with the required upgrade.
Is the reason for the decline in sales?
Auto expert says that the demand for petrol-CNG vehicles in India has increased rapidly, but Grand Vitara CNG could not gain that popularity. One of the reasons for this can also be a higher value, which makes it less attractive to fleet operators. In addition, no “tour” version of Grand Vitara (eg Dzire Tour, Ertiga Tour) is present in the market, which makes it entry in the taxi segment. For this reason, it would have been closed. However, the company has not yet made any official statement.
