Sri Lankan off -spinner Sachitra Senanayake is stuck on IPL match fixing. The Hambantota High Court has convicted a partner for provoking a match for match -fixing during the 2020 Sri Lanka Premier League. In this league, two players were also tried to woo the players to join the match fixing. Senanayake was arrested in 2020. He had declared these allegations completely false. Attorney General’s office said that this is the first case under the new law of anti -corruption in which a national level player’s match has been found guilty in fixing.

Cases like match fixing have become very common in Sri Lanka. Due to which the International Cricket Council i.e. ICC Sri Lanka has been called one of the most corrupt countries in cricket.

He has taken 53 wickets in ODI career and in T20 career. However, he has also been a part of the KKR team in the fighter’s IPL. He took 9 wickets in eight matches playing KKR in 2013.
