Husband met in train
Alka’s first meeting with Neeraj was at the Delhi railway station in 1986. She reached the national capital from Kolkata with her mother, where the nephew of the singer’s mother’s friend, alias Neeraj reached the station to pick her up. He said, ‘He came in his pajamas and my first belief was what kind of man could do it. Later she told me that her first perception about me was that of a very attractive woman who came to the train in the morning and got up with a lot of decorating. ‘ Later both Alka and Neeraj maintained contact. Two years later, both the singer and her lover decided to get married in 1988. This was the same year when Alka’s famous song from the film Tezaab became Ek Do Teen Blockbuster, which gave him many praise. I was a little confused and thought to talk to Laxmikant ji. But I was very afraid of them, so kept quiet. ‘ Alka further said, ‘Laxmikant ji was eating paan. Even today, ‘Ek Do Teen’ is not only a milestone of Alka Yagnik’s career, but is considered one of the most memorable songs of Bollywood.

Alka Yagnik shared an interesting anecdote about the making of the song. He said, ‘When I started singing the song, it slowly started to enjoy it so much that I completely drowned in it. Every Antara used to bring something new and all had a special attraction. But the fun that came in the last Antara song was the most special. Regarding composer Laxmikant, Alka told that she was very fond of eating paan. The interesting thing is that he had prepared the tune of many hit songs on chewing paan. ‘Ek Do Teen’ was also one of them. Actress Madhuri Dixit made this song even more special, who made it a chartbuster with her tremendous dance performance.
