Mayuri was born in 1983. While she was studying in class 8, director KR caught sight of her and she cast Mayuri in the film ‘Kumbhkonam Gopalu’. Released in 1998, Mayuri played a nurse in this film. This role became the first proof of his talent and he gave his first step firmly in the industry. After starting with Tamil films, Mayuri turned to Malayalam cinema, where he got a chance to work in a hit film like ‘Summer in Bethalham’. His character in this film was named ‘Gayatri’, and the audience appreciated his spontaneous acting. In this film, veteran actor Mohanlal also did a cameo, which gave the film more fame.

Took his life in 22 years

The actress, who earned a fast name in acting, suddenly committed suicide on 16 June 2005, surprising everyone. At that time she was only 22 years old. According to reports, he had left a suicide note in which it was written, “Now I have no hope from life.” What was the reason for his suicide, it has not been fully revealed till date. Many consider it a result of industry politics and mental stress, but no concrete response was received. Many years after Mayuri’s death, his final film ‘Akash Ganga 2’ was released in 2019, using his old footage. The film became an emotional journey for his fans, who still remember him.
