Mission Gaganyaan success
An important update has emerged from the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) regarding the Mission Gaganyaan. ISRO has successfully conducted a short -term hot test of the Gaganyaan Service Module Pranation System. ISRO successfully conducted two hot tests of the Gaganyaan Service Module Profictions System (SMPS) at the IPRC (IPRC) in Mahendragiri on 3 July 2025.
Testing details
Two short -term heat tests were conducted for 30 seconds and 100 seconds to confirm the configuration of the test material. The overall performance of the propulsion system during these heat tests was normal according to pre-testing forecasts. During the 100 second testing, all the liquid apozi motor (LAM) engines as well as all reaction control systems (RCS) thrusters in various mode (pulsed) were also successfully displayed simultaneously.
ISRO’s Fluid Pranges System Center (LPSC) is leading technology development activities for Gaganyaan SMPS. SMPS Gaganyaan is an important system of orbital modules and requires it during orbital maneuver as well as specific cancellation scenarios. It contains 5 liquid epozy motor (LAM) engine (each 440N thrst) and 16 reaction control system (RCS) thrust (each 100n thrust).
future plans
To simulate the conditions of the propulsion system close to the flight, SMPS test articles for these hot tests include improvements based on experiences obtained from earlier hot tests. ISRO’s release stated that with confidence obtained from these hot tests, ISRO would soon do a full -term hot testing.
What is Gaganyaan Mission?
ISRO’s Gaganyaan Mission is India’s first human space flight program. Its main objective is to send three Indian astronauts to the lower orbit of the Earth at an altitude of about 400 km and to safely bring them back to Earth after a three -day mission.
