New Delhi: Mock drills will be done under Operation Shield on 31 May in states and union territories bordering Pakistan. It was earlier to be done on May 29 but had to be postponed for administrative reasons. Now the mock drill will be held on 31 May. This mock drill will be held in all western states and union territories bordering Pakistan including Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat.

Why mock drill is

Mock drills are being organized so that citizens will be cautious about the attacks by the enemy country in future. Mock drill is a kind of practice in which people are informed about dealing with emergency conditions. People are told that if there is any kind of attack or the situation of disaster, then how should the common people protect themselves. Explain that there is a border of about 3300 km between India and Pakistan. Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat borders Pakistan.

Explain that using the powers found under Section 19 of Civil Protection Rules, 1968, the Ministry of Home Affairs has decided to organize a second civil security exercise “Operation Shield” on 31.05.2025 in all the districts of the states bordering the country.

Flaws were found in mock drill on May 7

Earlier, during the first civil security practice held on 07 May, serious flaws were found in civil security preparations in sensitive areas of the country. To solve these flaws, mock drills are being organized under other civil security exercises. Let us know that after the first mock drill, the Indian Army attacked terrorist bases in Pakistan.

The exercise will include Civil Defense Warden, Registered Swayamsevak and National Cadet Corps (NCC), National Service Scheme (NSS), Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) and Bharat Scouts and Guides. During the mock drill, how to protect themselves in the event of war will be made aware about. During this time there will be war sirens and blackouts will also be there.

What to do during blackout, what not

  1. There should be no light in any building, if it is, it should be covered with opaque things.
  2. Should not be seen outside the roof part of a bright light building.
  3. There should be no glowing upwards outside the building or any part of it.
  4. There should be no light for decoration or advertising outside any building.
  5. All the lights in the car should be screen during the blackout, from which the beams come out.
  6. The first way for this is to apply dry brown paper over the glass, which will cause light light.
  7. The second way is to insert a cardboard disk behind the glass that covers the entire area.
  8. The reflector should be covered in such a way that no light comes out of the reflectors.
  9. If there is any kind of light in the hand, they should also be wrapped in paper.
