Modak was not stolen from Puri Jagannath temple, clarification of Odisha Law Minister
Jagannath temple of puri: Odisha Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan made it clear that no modak has been stolen from the Jagannath Temple of Puri. Earlier, a section of the servants had accused of the theft of Modak. Order to investigate SJTA officials: The minister said on Tuesday that according to information given by Shri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) chief administrator Aurobind Padhi, no modak has been stolen from the temple. When the dispute came to light, Padhi ordered the SJTA officials to investigate, which found that no theft of Modak had been stolen. A group of Vaidya Sevaks (Ayurvedic physicians) supplies modak in the temple during the ‘Anasar’ period of God. It is believed that the gods fall ill during the ‘Anasar’ period. The dispute began when Lord Balabhadra’s ‘Badragrahi’ (bodyguard) Haladhar Das Mahapatra claimed that 70 of the 313 ‘modes’ kept under tight security had disappeared. It is believed that their purity ends due to the theft of Modak. He lodged a formal written complaint in the SJTA. Talking to reporters, Padhi also dismissed the allegations of theft. (Language)
