Riyadh: The Modi government has again emerged as a troubleshooter for a Muslim youth living in Saudi Arabia. After the untiring efforts of the Indian Embassy, Indian youth, Chavez Hamid, who was in crisis, has been allowed to come home. He was not allowed to leave Riyadh due to the dues of lakhs of crores of rupees in Saudi Arabia. But due to the efforts of the Government of India, the youth’s arrears were forgiven. Not only this, the embassy also helped in the payment of his official dues. After this he got permission to return home.
Who was the young man

He was not allowed to return due to arrears after recovering. But after the intervention of the Indian Embassy, the youth was given exit clearance from Saudi Arabia (migration withdrawal permission).
Indian Embassy told anecdote
The Indian Embassy in Riyadh said in an official statement on Saturday, “Chavez Hamid, who was hospitalized for four months after the accident, is returning to India today.” Hamid was facing exit ban on going out of Saudi Arabia due to heavy financial liabilities. The embassy said that it intervened and forgiven most of his dues and also paid government fines. So that their return can be ensured.
Youth kept in hospital also took care
The Indian Embassy said in its statement, “We are feeling happy stating that Mr. Chavez Hamid, who was hospitalized in Saudi Arabia for four months after an accident, is returning to India to meet his family today.” The case is one of the several examples where the Indian embassy has intervened to help Indian citizens trapped abroad, especially when their condition becomes complicated due to legal, economic or health problems. The embassy also stated that he continued to coordinate with health officials while Hamid was hospitalized so that he could get proper treatment and care. (PTI)
