Modi government will settle hundreds of houses destroyed in Pakistan’s shelling, 25 crore sanctioned

The central government has approved an additional assistance of Rs 25 crore for the houses damaged by Pakistan’s shelling in the border areas of Jammu and Kashmir. The decision was taken after the announcement made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that an additional assistance of Rs 2 lakh will be given for the houses completely damaged by Pakistan and Rs 1 lakh for partially damaged houses.

Ministry of Home Affairs took quick action

After the announcement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah immediately made an additional provision of Rs 25 crore from the Ministry of Home Affairs, so that the affected families could get help quickly. This aid amount will be used for 2,060 houses in the border areas of Jammu and Kashmir, which were completely or partially damaged by Pakistan’s shelling.

Assistance in border areas of Punjab

Along with this, the Ministry of Home Affairs also clarified that even in the border areas of Punjab, people affected by Pakistan’s shelling will be given equal assistance. This step has been taken in view of damage caused by cross -border shelling in both states.

Amit Shah’s Poonch tour, compassionate appointment

Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited Poonch, the border district of Jammu and Kashmir on 29-30 May. During this time, he met the families of those killed in Pakistan’s shelling and also handed them over appointment letters on compassionate grounds.

Damage to religious places and business properties

After Operation Sindoor, many fire incidents have come to light in the border districts of Jammu and Kashmir, which not only affected the residential areas, but also caused heavy losses to schools, religious places (gurudwaras, temples, mosques) and business properties, which affected hundreds of families.

3.25 lakh people were removed from border districts

The administration took active steps to predict potential events and ensure effective response. A total of 3.25 lakh people were evacuated from the border districts, out of which about 15,000 people were accommodated in about 397 shelter homes/housing centers equipped with facilities like food, water, health care, electricity etc.

Patients were posted in Poonch for treatment.

A total of 394 ambulances were deployed in all the border districts to take patients to the hospital for treatment, out of which 62 ambulances were deployed in Poonch district alone. A total of 2818 civil security volunteers were also deployed for services related to health, fire fighting and emergency services, livestock, necessary supply etc.
