Male: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has provided loan assistance of 4,850 crore to Maldives during his visit to Maldives. This loan assistance has been provided under the MoU between the two countries. This will give new heights to strategic and economic partnership between the two countries. Along with this, India and Maldives have decided to start negotiations on the free trade agreement. On this occasion, PM Modi said that Maldives has an important place in India’s ‘neighbor first’ policy and ocean vision.
Loan to improve economic stability and growth rate
The loan assistance of Rs 4,850 crore to Maldives by India will help to further strengthen the bilateral relations of the two countries. With this financial assistance, necessary resources will be provided for the development projects of Maldives. This will improve the economic stability and growth rate there. Along with this, talks on the free trade agreement between India and Maldives have also started. The agreement will promote trade and investment between the two countries. Also, economic cooperation will also be encouraged. With this agreement, many products of Maldi will get entry in the Indian market, while India’s products will also become more competition in Maldives.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “During the President’s visit to India in October last year, we had shared the vision of comprehensive economic and maritime security partnership, now it is becoming a reality and the result of that is that our relations are touching new heights. 4000 social housing units created by India will now have new shelters of many families in Maldives. Soon the start of Ferris System will be easy and easy to give new flights between different bottle. For we have decided to give a line of credit of about 5 thousand crores for Maldives. “
PM Modi said, “We have taken several steps to speed up our economic partnership. To speed up mutual investment, we will soon work towards finalizing bilateral investment treaty, talks on free trade agreement have also started. Our goal is from paperwork to prosperity.”
