Moninder Singh Pandher and Surendra Koli from Supreme Court in Nithari scandal case, acquitted in almost all cases

Noida: The Supreme Court dismissed the appeal of the CBI, Uttar Pradesh government and the families of the victims against the acquittal of Moninder Singh Pandher and his domestic assistant Surendra Koli on behalf of the Allahabad High Court in the 2006 Nithari serial killing case. The Supreme Court upheld the Allahabad High Court’s October 16, 2023 order, acquitting Pandher and Koli and the death sentence of the trial court was overturned.
A bench of Chief Justice BR Gawai, Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Vinod Chandran of Justice rejected 14 appeals on Wednesday. 12 petitions were filed by CBI and other two petitions Pappu Lal and Anil Haldhar. After a brief hearing, the Chief Justice said that there is no distortion in the Allahabad High Court verdict. Therefore petitions are dismissed.
Allahabad High Court acquitted Pandher and Koli
Both Koli and Pandher were accused of rape and murder in the neighborhood of Noida in 2006. On October 16, 2023, the Allahabad High Court acquitted Pandher in two cases and Koli in 12 cases. In September 2010, the High Court overturned the trial court’s verdict that sentenced Pandher and Koli to death.
The victim’s family disappointed on Supreme Court’s decision
According to the information, the Supreme Court kept Maninder Pandher and Surendra Kohli acquitted in almost all cases, keeping the High Court verdict. The CBI and the UP government had reached the Supreme Court against the Allahabad High Court verdict.
The families of the Nithari incident were emotional after the Supreme Court’s decision. Jyoti, a 10 -year -old daughter of Jhabbu Lal and Sunita, who pressed in Nithari, was also found skeleton. Jyoti’s parents said that we did not get justice. Is wrong. The victim’s family said that both the accused are hanging, they should be hanged. They should not be acquitted.
