Monsoon 2025: When will the monsoon reach the rest of the country including Delhi? Meteorological department told the date

New Delhi: Many states of the country including Delhi are having scorching heat. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has given the latest update regarding the monsoon. From this week, the southwest monsoon is becoming active once again. The monsoon will cover most parts of northwest India including Delhi by June 25, long before the normal dates.
Monsoon became active once again
The Meteorological Department said that the monsoon first reached Kerala in India on 24 May. The monsoon increased rapidly in the next few days due to low-pressure in the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal and reached parts of Central Maharashtra including Mumbai and the entire Northeast by May 29. However, it stopped from 28–29 May to 10-11 June. However, the monsoon has now become active once again.
According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, now the remaining parts of the monsoon and the remaining parts of eastern India and some areas of northwest India are likely to be covered by 18 June. It is expected to move forward in most parts of northwest India between June 19 and June 25.
Monsoon will reach Delhi first
An IMD official said that the monsoon is likely to reach Delhi from June 22-23 before the general start date of June 27. India is expected to receive 106 percent of a long-term rainfall of 87 cm during the June-September monsoon season.
These states will rain more than normal
Except for Ladakh, areas around Himachal Pradesh, Northeast and parts of Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Odisha, most parts of the country are expected to receive more than normal rainfall. Some different areas of Punjab, Haryana, Kerala and Tamil Nadu can record less than normal rainfall.
Meteorologists say that early or late monsoon in Kerala or Mumbai is not necessary to indicate a similar progress in other parts of the country. He says that the monsoon is affected by complex global, regional and local factors, with significant variability.
