‘More than half of the IPL is better than international players Ab Devilliers’: Do you agree with Dale Stan?
The fans are surprised to see the batting of AB de Villiers, who made a blast in the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025 and says de Villiers should also play in IPL 2026. Amidst the demand of fans, former South African fast bowler and one of the sports veterans, Dale Stan has also made a statement that most of the fans will agree.
Stan believes that 41 -year -old AB de Villiers, who has retired from all competitive levels of cricket, may still be better players than many foreign stars playing in IPL. Stan’s remarks came after de Villiers’ performance in the second edition of the World Championship of Legends (WCL) in which he scored a brilliant average of 143 in six matches and 431 runs at a strike rate of 221.
Stan wrote in his post on X, “Alapapriya/popular opinion. AB de Villiers are still better than half international players in the IPL. Perhaps even more than that.”
Many fans on social media agreed with Stan, while many said that since the old players were playing against the old players, it was necessary to take a decision keeping these factors in mind. Seeing the way de Villiers batted in this tournament, it was not felt that he had retired from international cricket.
Many people believed that even if they return from retirement and some play T20 leagues, they can still beat many players. De Villiers scored a century in 41 balls, centuries in 39 balls and 47 balls in the final. In such a situation, anyone would like to make a comeback in the IPL at least. De Villiers last played in the IPL in 2021, before he retired from all the formats of the game. Since then, he has not played much cricket.
