More than one thousand Bangladeshi in custody in Gujarat

After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, action has started against foreign nationals across the country. Police on Saturday detained about one thousand illegal Bangladeshi migrants including women and children in Ahmedabad (890) and Surat (134) in Gujarat. They will be evacuated from India if they are not found valid documents.

Gujarat Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi said, ‘Many of these people are involved in drugs and human trafficking and two of the recently arrested four Bangladeshis worked in Al Qaeda’s sleeper cell. The background of these Bangladeshis and their activities in Gujarat will be investigated.

In Haryana, the state government has issued an order to evacuate 460 Pakistanis. There is no notice of taking them into custody right now. CM Naib Saini has sought planning from the Home Department to send back Pakistanis.

The process of Pakistani citizens leaving India on the attic border of Punjab continues. After the Pahalgam terror attack on 22 April, the central government has asked all Pakistani citizens to leave India by 1 May, 2025.

The Government of India has canceled all types of visas issued to Pakistani citizens except long term visas, diplomatic and official visas. Now Pakistani Hindu pilgrims will have to leave India by 27 April.

Medical visas will have to return to Pakistan by 29 April. No new visa will be issued to any Pakistani citizen. At the same time, the government itself will take out the people living in India illegally from the country.
