NATO shocks Ukraine, Jailonski in group photo missing from “scene”
World leaders including US President Trump and Ukraine President Jailonsci others at the NATO summit.
The Hague (Netherlands): At the NATO summit, Ukraine President Vladimir Jailonsky has given a big blow. Jailonsky was present in NATO’s group photo. But he disappeared from the scene of the main meetings. NATO leaders agreed to a significant increase in defense spending on Wednesday amid the ongoing war against Russia’s invasion of Jailonski. But in this important meeting, Ukrainian President Volodimir Jailonsky was kept absent. It caught everyone’s attention. While the leaders of the coalition were discussing shared strategies, Ukrainian President was not present in the inaugural session of the summit.
Ukraine fighting war with Russia for 3 years
Ukraine has been entangled with Russia since February 2022. This topic has often been the center of discussion in NATO meetings, but the picture, which started in the Hague, looks somewhat changed. In the presence of US President Donald Trump, Jailonsky has been sidelined for the first time with important meetings. Ever since Trump ruled in the US, American help has been completely closed to Jailonsky. At the same time, Europe has also been divided on the issue of full help to Ukraine.
Now Jailonski’s focus on separate meetings
It is also being said that the reason behind the absence of President Jailnsky was that he had set a bilateral meetings of face-to-face with US President Donald Trump and other leaders at the conference site, parallel to the NATO conference. Prior to the meeting, Trump told reporters, “We will discuss his (Jailonsky) difficulties. He is a good person. I guess that today we will talk serious about Ukraine.” Significantly, the Trump administration has blocked Ukraine’s efforts to join NATO in the past. Recently, a sharp debate between Trump and Jailonski in the Oval Office of America also became a topic of discussion.
New promises of military aid to Ukraine
The Jailonsky Summit did not appear in the session on the first day of the NATO Summit, but he held constant meetings in the Hague. The Netherlands promised to give new drones and radar systems to Ukraine to deal with Russia’s drone attacks. This assistance will help strengthen Ukraine’s air defense capacity. Britain’s Prime Minister Care Stmper announced that his country would give 350 air defense missiles to Ukraine. Funding for these missiles will be done with an amount of 70 million pounds raised from interest on Russian assets seized.
War background and worry of NATO
The war in Ukraine has now entered the third year. Among the recent military operations of Russia, it has carried out one of the biggest drone attacks on Kiev. Thousands of citizens have been killed in these attacks and many cities in Ukraine have reached the verge of ruin. Member countries at NATO Summit have agreed to increase security expenses. So that Russia’s aggressive strategy can be combated, but it is clear that Ukraine will have to struggle more about complete membership and military security within the alliance. (AP)
