Heavy rain havoc in Himachal Pradesh
The heavy rains on Monday in many parts of Himachal Pradesh have disturbed life. Due to this rain, landslides occurred in many places, which closed about 400 roads including three national highways in the state. However, the officials have stated a matter of relief that till now there is no news of any loss of life and property.
Major roads and routes affected
- Shimla-Mandi road has been closed near Tatti-Pani in Sunni area of Shimla district due to erosion and landslides of the Sutlej river. The width of the road has reduced to 1.5 meters, due to which the road has become dangerous for the movement of vehicles.
- The alternative route through the plate bridge is also closed, causing Karsog’s contact with Shimla.
- About 15 villages lost road connectivity after heavy landslides on the Aat-Lagi-Sainz road near Crazy Nala in Kullu district.
Where did it rain?
- Since Sunday evening, heavy rains have been recorded in Dhaulakuan 113 mm, 70.8 mm in Jot, 70 mm in Malraon and 58.7 mm in Palampur.
- Other affected areas include Jattan Barrage (49.4 mm), Paonta Sahib (40.6 mm), Murari Devi (33 mm), Gohar (32 mm) and Nahan (30.1 mm).
- Sundernagar and Murari Devi received thunderstorms with thunderstorms, while Tabo, Rikongpo and Kufri were strong at a speed of 37 to 44 kilometers per hour.
Roads here closed
According to the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC), a total of 400 roads have been closed. These include National Highway 3 (Mandi-Dharampur Marg), National Highway 305 (Aut-Sainge Marg) and National Highway 505 (Gramfu from Khab). Most of the closed roads are the maximum number of roads in Mandi (192) and Kullu (86) districts.
Due to heavy rains, 883 power supply transformers and 122 water supply schemes have also been disrupted, which is causing problems for people.
Weather alert continues
The local Meteorological Department has issued a ‘yellow’ alert of heavy rains at different places in the state except August 21 on August 21.
According to officials, the state has suffered a total loss of Rs 2,173 crore since the onset of monsoon in Himachal Pradesh since the onset of monsoon on 20 June. During this period, 136 people died and 37 people are missing in 74 sudden floods, 36 cloudburst and 66 major landslides. (input language)
