Naxalites attacked soldiers returning from patrolling, two soldiers martyred, two injured in IED blast

Narayanpur. Naxalites have carried out an IED blast in Mohandi of Abujhmad in Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh. In this blast, four soldiers of ITBP i.e. Indo-Tibetan Border Police were injured, out of which two soldiers sacrificed their lives. The condition of the other two is normal. The injured have been airlifted to Raipur for first aid.

According to the information received from the police, a joint party of Tibetan Border Security Force, Border Security Force and District Reserve Police Force from Orchha, Mondi and Erathbhatti of Narayanpur district had left for Dhurbera for the Naxalite operation. During the return journey in the afternoon, two soldiers of Tibetan Border Security Force, Amar Panwar (36) of Maharashtra and K Rajesh (36) of Andhra Pradesh were hit by a landmine in the forest near village Kodliyar. The injured soldiers were sent to Raipur for better treatment.

Earlier, on October 3, on the intelligence of top Naxalites of East Bastar Division, PLGA Company 6, Indravati Area Committee, Platoon 16 etc., a joint team of Dantewada DRG, Narayanpur DRG and STF had gone on Naxal patrol search in Thulathuli Nendur area. In the encounter, bodies of 31 Maoists along with weapons and other items were recovered. Also, all the security forces returned safely from the operation. Later it was confirmed that 38 Naxalites had been killed.
