NDA camp’s TDP is not appearing SIR? Memorandum given to Election Commission, objected
Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process of Election Commission in Bihar, CM Chandrababu Naidu of Andhra Pradesh
The Election Commission has started a special intensive revision of the voter list in Bihar, about 88% of its work has been completed on Monday itself. Meanwhile, the TDP of the NDA camp has questioned the Commission’s program in a kind of protest accent. TDP has submitted a memorandum to the Election Commission on how to conduct special intensive revision (SIR). In this, TDP has said that special intensive revision should be done before 6 months of big election. Apart from this, it should be clarified that its citizenship has nothing to do with proof, till there is a complaint about a particular case.
Bihar was not named in this, but the way SIR is happening in Bihar, a big BJP allies in NDA objected to it.
What did TDP MP say?
TDP Parliamentary Party leader Lavu Shri Krishna Deviryu has written a letter to Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar demanding the Commission to clarify his position on special intensive revision. According to him, the Commission should clarify for what purpose it is being done. In the letter, he has said, “The purpose of this special intensive revision should be completely explained and it should only be limited to amendment in the voter list.”
What did SIR need to be said in Andhra Pradesh?
TDP MP Krishna Devarayalu said that if the SIR is to be started in Andhra Pradesh for the 2029 elections, then do it immediately so that the voters have enough time. He further said that assembly elections are not to be held in Andhra Pradesh till 2029, so TDP believes that if it is needed there in future, it should be started soon so that the voters have enough time for it.
Why is there a ruckus on SIR in Bihar?
Please tell that politics is hot about SIR in Bihar. The dispute is because it is being made just before the Bihar Legislative Assembly. This process is taking place on such a large scale for the first time in the state since 2003. All opposition parties say that SIR is a conspiracy. Its purpose is to take away the franchise of poor, Dalit, backward classes and minorities. Opposition parties also say that the SIR process is an attempt to implement the NRC indirectly, as documents are being sought to prove citizenship in it.
