In the elections since 1990 till now, BJP has won 3 times while Congress has won 4 times. In 1990, BJP’s Phool Chand registered his second victory after 1985. In 1993, Mohan Lal Modi was elected on Congress ticket. He was re-elected in 1998. The election campaign for the assembly elections in Rajasthan is gradually gaining momentum. A few months before the elections, the state government had announced to make Neem Ka Thana Tehsil a new district. Neem police station was earlier located in Sikar district.

Neem Thana area is also considered to be the largest mining zone of Rajasthan. The demand to make Neem Ka Thana a district is very old and was going on since 1992. Neem ka Thana is considered an important commercial center of Shekhawati region of the state. The new division of the state was included in Sikar division.

Expressing confidence in former MLA Prem Singh Bajor, BJP declared its candidate from Neemkathana. There is a lot of enthusiasm among the workers after BJP declared former MLA Prem Singh Bajor as candidate in Neem Ka police station. The workers congratulated each other by feeding them sweets. Let us tell you that former MLA Prem Singh Bajor has been MLA twice in Neem Ka police station. This time too, BJP expressed confidence in Prem Singh Bajor and gave him ticket as its candidate. Has won elections from Neemkathana twice from BJP in the year 2003 and 2013. He was the Chairman of Sainik Welfare Board both the times during BJP government. During his last tenure, he has installed statues of martyrs in every village in Rajasthan.

Suresh Modi got 66,287 votes while BJP’s Prem Singh Bajor got 53,672 votes. Ramesh Khandelwal of Rashtriya Loktantrik Party had brought excitement in the elections by securing 25,620 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party got 13,211 votes here. However, Suresh Modi won the election by a margin of 12,615 (7.1%) votes. In the then elections, the total number of voters in Neem Ka Thana seat was 2,39,251 in which the number of male voters was 1,27,659 and the number of female voters was 1,11,592. Of these, a total of 1,77,718 (74.6%) voters had cast their votes. Only 861 (0.4%) votes were cast in favor of NOTA.
