NEET UG Result: Mahesh Kumar of Rajasthan on top, Utkarsh Awadhiya of MP in second place
NEET UG Result: Mahesh Kumar of Rajasthan has topped the ‘National Eligibility cum Entrance Examination-Graduate’ (NEET-UG) while Utkarsh Awadhiya of Madhya Pradesh has secured second place. The National Examination Agency (NTA) gave this information on Saturday. Out of the total 22.09 lakh candidates appearing in the medical entrance examination, more than 12.36 lakh candidates passed. However, this number is less than the 13.15 lakh passed candidates of the previous year. Krishang Joshi and Mrinal Kishore Jha in third and fourth position respectively: Krishang Joshi of Maharashtra and Mrinal Kishore Jha of Delhi finished third and fourth respectively. Among the girls, Delhi’s Avika Aggarwal topped and finished 5th at the national level. The maximum passed candidates are from Uttar Pradesh (more than 1.70 lakh), followed by Maharashtra (more than 1.25 lakhs) and Rajasthan (more than 1.19 lakh).
The NTA conducts NEET for admission to medical colleges every year. A total of 1,08,000 seats are available for MBSS courses, with about 56,000 seats in government hospitals and about 52,000 seats in private colleges. Neet results are also used for admission to graduate courses in dental, Ayurveda, Unani and Siddha. (Language)
