New Zealand captain Sophie Divine announced his retirement from ODI, told when she will play the last match
New Zealand captain Sophie Divine will say goodbye to ODI International cricket after the 50 -over World Cup in India and Sri Lanka this year. But will be available for selection in T20 International under an unstable contract with New Zealand cricket.
35-year-old Divine announced this before the 17-players of New Zealand surfaced of the female contract list, as she would not be part of the Central Contract. The Divine will captain the team in the World Cup and after that the new captain will be elected.
Divine made his debut in 2006 at the age of 17. She is the second highest match female ODI player in New Zealand, who is second after Suzy Bates. New Zealand is at number four in terms of scoring the most runs for the women’s ODI team. His names are currently eight ODI centuries, which are the second highest century for New Zealand after Bates.
She is currently at number two in terms of taking the most wickets for the New Zealand women’s team. Apart from him, Lee Tahuhu has taken more than 100 wickets for New Zealand.
Divine said, “I think this is the right time for me to retire. I feel very lucky that I have got the support of New Zealand cricket, which I have been able to find a solution, which means that I can still give something to white fences. It is important that everyone knows that I am dedicated to this team.”
The T20 Champion team will play their first match in their ODI World Cup against Australia in Indore on 1 October.
