NHAI made a big decision regarding Fastag, black list will be more tricked
National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) said on Friday that the process related to putting drivers in the black list has been strengthened in the black list. NHAI has taken these necessary steps keeping in mind the problems faced by toll operations due to not imposing fastags, ie ‘loose fastag’. ‘Loose Fastag’ means a fastag that is not pasted properly on the windscreen of the car, but the driver is in hand or placed in a place from where he cannot be easily scanned.
NHAI policy on loose fastag
NHAI said in a statement that it is important to resolve the issue of ‘Loose Fastag’ to ensure the authenticity of the fasteg, given the upcoming initiatives like Annual Pass System and Multi-Len Free Flow (MLFF) toling. The authority said, “NHAI has further enhanced its policy of giving immediate information about ‘loose fastag’ for toll collection agencies and users.
Many types of problems are caused by loose fastag
According to the statement, not applying the fastag properly creates operational challenges on the toll plaza and the lane congestion, false chargebacks, disruption of electronic toll collection structure, unnecessary delays on toll plazas and inconvenience to other national highway users.
Instructions given to toll collection agencies
NHAI has provided separate email IDs to ensure timely corrective measures and toll collection agencies and users have been instructed to give immediate information of such fastags. The authority said that on the basis of information received in this regard, action will be taken to put the concerned fastg in the black list immediately.
