Nikhil Dwivedi supported Shah Rukh Khan’s National Award, said- It is wrong to question the jury
Actor -turned -producer Nikhil Dwivedi has emerged as one of the most effective figures of Indian cinema today. He has supported many such projects, which not only became a favorite of critics but also proved to be a big success at the box office.
His sharp eye to identify strong stories and talented actors is famous. His credibility in the industry is so much that his spoken words are given importance. Recently, when superstar Shah Rukh Khan received the title of Best Actor at the 71st National Film Awards for great acting in Atallie’s Jawan (2023), different reactions were received on this honor.
Many people expressed happiness over Shah Rukh Khan receiving the National Award, while some also questioned the decision. In a recent interview to a portal, Nikhil Dwivedi spoke on the issue. He said that some people will always raise doubts or questions, but it is necessary to ignore such criticism, because the decision of the jury comes with understanding and experience. According to him, it is not right to say people like this.
Nikhil Dwivedi clearly said that the jury is never biased. He said, the Jury of the National Awards is always made up of respected and experienced people. The problem is that some people question everything. If we do not trust the jury, then we should reject every award of them. This cannot happen that we say that the jury is right at 5 awards and wrong on the remaining 5. I do not understand this at all. Either accept the entire decision of the jury or reject it completely.
Nikhil further said, it is not right that we say ‘I like this artist, so the jury chose right’ or ‘This artist was not worth winning’. If we do this, then we will become a jury ourselves! This thinking is absolutely wrong. I am confident that the jury has taken its decision with full understanding and thoughtfully. These people have been in the world of cinema for years. He must have decided only after thinking deeply and we should respect him.
The first show of Nikhil Dwivedi’s next big film ‘Bandar (Monkey in a Cage)’ on Professional Front will be held at Toronto International Film Festival 2025. Directed by Anurag Kashyap, the film will feature Bobby Deol and Sanya Malhotra in the lead roles. Along with this, Nikhil is also making the famous fantasy drama ‘Naagin’, carrying forward her effective cinema, in which Shraddha Kapoor will play the main role.
