Nurse Nimisha Priya, a resident of Palakkad district of Kerala, was convicted of killing her business partner in Yemen in 2017. Nimisha was sentenced to death in the year 2020. Nimisha’s final appeal was rejected in 2023. Nimisha Priya was first to be sentenced to death on 16 July but was then postponed. However, now the matter of cancellation of this sentence is coming out. Nimisha is currently lodged in a jail in Sana, the capital of Yemen.
