Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has achieved great success at Chennai International Airport. 5.6 kg of cocaine has been recovered in joint action with Air Intelligence Unit and Customs. Goods were being brought from Ethiopia to Chennai

The cocaine was being brought from Adis Ababa (Ethiopia) to Chennai from the flight of Ethiopian Airlines. During this period, two youths from Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh were caught. Investigation has revealed that both the accused have smuggled drugs at different airports in India several times for the last few years.

Nigerian came to India on medical visa

NCB has also detained a Nigerian citizen from Delhi and an Indian ally from Mumbai. The Nigerian accused came to India on medical visa in 2023. Even after the visa was over, he was illegally staying here and running a drug network.

Two boys from Himachal and Uttarakhand also arrested

Two Indian citizens were arrested during this campaign. One of these is a 25 -year -old BA graduation of Bageshwar in Uttarakhand. The second is from Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh. It is 26 years old and ITI passes.

Nigerian citizen was handling syndicate

Investigations have revealed that these persons have made several trips from Adis Ababa to various airports in India for smuggling cocaine in the last few years. Initial investigation also shows that the arrested persons are part of a large international drug syndicate that is involved in cocaine smuggling from Ethiopia, distributed from Delhi to other parts of India, where the distribution network is handled by a Nigerian citizen.
