No need to be afraid of increasing cases of Corona, read what the Health Ministry said

Amid increasing cases of Corona in the country, the Union Health Ministry said that in most cases the patient is being treated at home. Along with this, it has been said that according to information received from the National IHR focal points, the new variant of Korona is not more contagious than the old variant nor does it cause more serious diseases. The Health Ministry has not released any kind of guideline regarding Korona.

The Union Health Secretary reviewed the case related to Kovid-19 with Secretary, Health Research Department (DHR) and Director General, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), DGHS, National Disease Control Center (NCDC) and other officials on 24 May. After this, the common people were informed about this.

What did the ministry tell

  • In the press release issued by the Health Ministry, it was said that some cases of Kovid-19 have been mainly reported from states like Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Karnataka etc. However, in most cases the patient has common symptoms and is taking care of them at home. The ministry said that there is a strong all-India system for monitoring respiratory diseases including Kovid-19 through the integrated Disease Monitoring Program (IDSP) and ICMR’s All India respiratory virus watchdog monitoring network.
  • It has been said by the Ministry of Health that in recent times, there have been some media reports about the increase in Kovid 19 cases in Singapore, Hong Kong and other countries. The concerned national IHR focal points have been ascertained that there is no indication that the new variant is more contagious than the already existing variants or causes more serious illness.

A young man dies in Maharashtra

A 21 -year -old man infected with Korona died at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Kalwa Hospital in Thane. He was a resident of Mumbra and was admitted to the hospital on 22 May after being infected Korona. He died on 24 May during treatment.
