‘No running train named’ Cancer Train ‘in Railways, government had to give this cleanliness

The government said on Tuesday that no train named ‘Cancer Train’ is being operated in Indian Railways. Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Prataprao Jadhav gave this information to the Rajya Sabha in written reply to a question. According to him, the Railway Ministry has informed that no train named ‘Cancer Train’ is being run under Indian Railways.
Government running schemes running
The minister said in Parliament that the Central Government is running a plan to ‘strengthen the tertiary cancer care facilities’ to strengthen cancer treatment services across the country. Under this, financial assistance is given to the states and union territories for the establishment of State Cancer Institute (SCI) and Tertiary Cancer Care Center (TCCC).
Assistance of Rs 45 crore is given
Jadhav said that a maximum assistance of Rs 120 crore per state cancer institute and Rs 45 crore per tertiary cancer care center is given assistance. He said that so far a total of 39 institutions (19 SCIs and 20 TCC) have been approved under this scheme. These include SCI at Government Medical College in Amritsar, Punjab and TCCC in Civil Hospital in Fazilka.
Chemotherapy services are being given
The minister said that radiotherapy and chemotherapy services are available in Government Medical College, Amritsar, while chemotherapy services are being provided at Fazilka’s Civil Hospital. According to him, the Tata Memorial Center under the Department of Atomic Energy has established Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital (HBCH) and Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Center (HBCH & RC) in New Chandigarh at Civil Hospital campus in Sangrur, Punjab, which are employed.
Cancer treatment services are also being provided in Fazilka, Patiala, Faridkot and Bathinda under the Punjab Government Chief Minister’s Chief Minister’s Punjab Cancer Relief Fund Scheme (MMPCRKS). (With language input)
