State Bank of India (SBI) If you are a customer, then this news is for you. SBI has posted on social media X about UPI service. The bank has informed its customers about the impact on its digital transaction platform UPI due to blockage of service and schedule maintenance. According to SBI’s social media posts, these updates are important for those SBI users who are mainly dependent on Unified Payments Interface (UPI) and digital banking services for their financial transactions.

According to the information given by SBI, on July 22, 2025, UPI Service will be temporarily unavailable from 00:15 am to 01:00 pm due to schedule maintenance. That is, you will not be able to transact with UPI during this time. SBI users can continue using UPI light services for digital payments during schedule maintenance.

How to activate UPI Lite?

  • Download the Bhim SBI Pay App and open it.
  • Tap on the “UPI Lite” section given in the app.
  • The app will first ask you to load money in UPI Lite Wallet.
  • As soon as you load money, the UPI Lite feature will be active.

What is UPI Lite Limit?

  • Maximum load amount at once: ₹ 2,000
  • Maximum limit of a transaction: ₹ 500
  • Maximum limit of total expenditure in one day: ₹ 4,000

UPI LITE will require UPI PIN for transactions?

Let us tell you that PIN is not required in UPI light. Small payments can be made quickly and easily through BHIM SBI Pay. You can close UPI Lite anytime through BHIM SBI Pay app.

Do UPI LITE transactions appear in my bank statement?

No, UPI LITE transactions do not appear in your bank statement because they are cut directly from the wallet. Only wallet load transactions appear. What will happen if a customer has an active UPI Lite account with balance in the mobile device and he wants to change his mobile device?
