Tech News Desk – Airtel users are going to get better and superfast 5G connectivity soon. Sunil Bharti Mittal’s company is going to sign a multi-billion dollar deal with Finland’s Nokia for expanding its 5G network. According to the report, after Ericsson, Nokia can also expand 5G network in India in collaboration with Airtel. Earlier, during the India Mobile Congress 2024, Sunil Mittal had confirmed that Airtel has partnered with Swedish company Ericsson for 5G devices.

Airtel will buy 5G equipment
According to a Reuters report, telecom companies Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea are spending millions of dollars to upgrade 5G networks in the world’s second largest smartphone market. Indian telecom operators are mainly dealing with Nokia and Ericsson for network upgrades. According to the report, Airtel’s deal with Nokia is for airscale mobile radio equipment, which will upgrade the existing network to advance 5G with low energy consumption.

At present, no official announcement has been made by Nokia and Airtel regarding this deal. According to Reuters, some industry sources have given this information. Another report is coming out, according to which, apart from Nokia and Ericsson, Airtel is also talking to South Korean company Samsung to buy 5G equipment.

Better connectivity for Airtel users
Airtel, the country’s second largest telecom company, currently has 38 crore users. The company has extended 5G network to almost all the districts across the country. Along with 4G, Airtel is the first company to launch 5G service in the country. In October 2022, the company first launched Airtel 5G Plus in 8 cities of the country. After this, in the next 6 months, Airtel’s 5G Plus service reached all the major cities of the country. Apart from Jio, only Airtel is currently providing 5G service in the country.
