The Congress is surrounded by the BJP government over the increasing crime against women in Odisha, but the President of the Congress student wing has been arrested by the police for raping a student. After registering a complaint to the police on behalf of the student, the police took action in the case and arrested him. Please tell that this incident took place on March 18, but it was complained by the student on Sunday and the police informed the media on Monday, July 21.
What did the police say about this incident?
Regarding the incident that took place in Odisha, a senior police official said, ‘The incident took place on March 18 but the incident came to light after the student lodged a complaint with the Rageshwar police station on Sunday. On the basis of the complaint made by the student, a case was registered at Manch a case and the accused i.e. Udit Pradhan was arrested on Sunday. Police also said that the student also accused the president of the NSUI’s Odisha unit that she had threatened to tell her about the incident. Police said that a case has been registered against the accused under different sections of the Indian Code, including rape and criminal intimidation.
BJP leader Amit Malviya targeted
After this news came to light, Amit Malviya has targeted Rahul Gandhi. He wrote, replying to the post of this news agency news, “Another Babbar Sher of Rahul Gandhi in jail.” Let us tell you that the police have registered a case under sections 64 (1), 123, 296, 74 and 351 (2) of BNS based on the complaint of the victim in this case.
NSUI suspended Udit Pradhan
NSUI has suspended Udit Pradhan with immediate effect and investigations are being done after the police were arrested on charges of rape. NSUI has released a public statement stating, ‘In view of the current incident, the NSUI Odisha state president has been suspended with immediate effect until the investigation is pending. NSUI is a policy of zero tolerance against gender based injustice and is adamant in its commitment to accountability and justice. Our fight for justice for Balasore victim will continue with full perseverance.
