Equatorial Guinea: The Vice President of Equatorial Guinea, a country in the southern African continent, has warned that “strict action” will be taken against government employees caught committing sexual assault in their offices. This comes after hundreds of alleged porn videos were leaked publicly. The videos purportedly show high-ranking civil servant Baltasar Ebang Ngonga performing inappropriate acts on several women in his office. Which also includes the wives of prominent officials.
The officer committed misdeed in public
Ngonga is the head of the National Financial Investigation Agency of the country (Equatorial Guinea) and is also a relative of the country’s President. He has not yet commented on this matter. The scandal came to light after investigators found more than 400 videos on Ngonga’s computer that showed him being romantically involved with multiple partners, including his brother’s wife, a cousin and even a close relative of the president. The recording reportedly took place at various locations such as his office, hotel and toilet.

According to the report, all the conversations in the video were consensual. The leaked footage has sparked widespread debate on social media, with some posts sharing reactions, while others questioning the ethics of Ngonga’s behavior as a public official (Equatorial Guinea). Vice President Teodoro Obiang Mangue said any official found engaging in such activity in the workplace would be suspended. He has also ordered the installation of surveillance cameras in courts and ministries to deal with “obscene and illegal acts”.

A statement from the Office of the Vice President (Equatorial Guinea) said the decision was taken in view of the widely circulated video, which has “tarnished the image of the country”. It also said that he has recommended that an investigation be initiated. State television TVGE said the videos were leaked after Mr Ngonga was arrested on separate corruption charges. Last week, Vice President Obiang said there was a flood of “obscene videos” on social media and ordered telecommunications companies to stop their spread.

Many in Equatorial Guinea argue that Ngonga deliberately leaked his private moments with women of national importance to divert public attention from the ongoing investigation against him. The sex tapes were leaked online soon after the ANIF DG was detained on corruption charges. The discovery of the clip was accidental as authorities were examining Ngonga’s digital assets as part of the investigation. However, there was no information about the source of the leak.

Know who is Ebang Engonga?
Baltasar Ebang Ngonga, 54, is a member of Equatorial Guinea’s politically powerful family, which also includes current President Teodoro Obiang. The son of Baltasar Ngonga Adjou, President of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC), Ngonga began his political career in 1998, when he became Minister of Education. BBC reported that he is married and has six children.
