Operation Sindoor- Controversy on Tharoor’s name in Indian delegation

The central government has created 7 delegation of all -party MPs to show India’s attitude against Operation Sindoor and cross -border terrorism. These delegation will visit the major countries of the world, especially the UN Security Council (UNSC) member countries.

The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs on Saturday released the names of MPs who lead delegation. It includes the name of Shashi Tharoor, the only MP from Congress. Now the Congress has said that it did not name Tharoor to the Center.

Congress leader Jairam Ramesh wrote on X, ‘On Friday (May 16), Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju spoke to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi. He sought the name of 4 MPs for delegation to be sent abroad. The Congress gave the names of Anand Sharma, Gaurav Gogoi, Dr. Syed Naseer Hussain and Raja Brar.

Tharoor said- I feel honored
On the other hand, Shashi Tharoor thanked the Center for the responsibility of leading the delegation. He wrote on X, ‘I feel honored with the invitation of the Government of India for leading an all -party delegation among the capitals of five major countries to keep our country’s view on recent events. When there is a matter of national interest and my services will be needed, I will not lag behind. ‘

Earlier, Shashi Tharoor praised the central government on 8 May. He had said that Operation Sindoor is a strong message for Pakistan and the world. India took accurate action to avenge the death of 26 innocent citizens.
